BPN 2.0 Paid Starting January 21

 The Ministry of Finance will expedite the payment of the Second Phase of the National Caring Aid (BPN 2.0) amounting to RM2.38 billion to 11.06 million recipients comprising 10.6 million existing recipients as well as about 460,000 new recipients starting January 21.


Minister of Finance, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said, this follows the announcement of various Movement Control Orders (PKP), Conditional PKP and PKP Rehabilitation by the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 11 January.


In a statement today as reported by Bernama, he said, the approval review can be made from January 15 on BPN's official portal, https://bpn.hasil.gov.my.


“Payments for B40 and M40 recipients will continue to be credited into their bank accounts from January 21 and January 25 respectively.


"For recipients without a bank account, the payment date will start on January 25 through the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch where BSN will issue a standard operating procedure guide (SOP) from time to time.



"For recipients in Sabah and Sarawak who do not have a bank account, payment will be made from early February until April 1, 2021 at locations that will be announced at the end of January," he said.


The application for the new recipient was approved during the application / appeal period opened on October 15 to November 15.


BPN 2.0 is part of the Additional Initiative Framework, the People's Concerned Economic Stimulus Package (KITA PRIHATIN) worth RM10 billion which was announced on 23 September.


The BPN 2.0 initiative was channeled through two phases of payment in October 2020 and January 2021.


Explaining further, according to Tengku Zafrul as a whole, the total recipients of BPN 2.0 include a total of 11.06 million recipients, namely 5.82 million single individuals and 5.24 million household recipients with a total payment / allocation of RM7.18 billion, so far.


"The government is always committed to ensuring that the assistance allocated reaches those targeted to ensure the well-being of the people," he added.
