Ren Zhengfei, who is Ren Zhengfei, issued a statement on Friday that the United States (U.S.) remains a ‘technological milestone’ that should be emulated and given attention. At the same time Huawei will reconsider the reduction measures from their product line after being repeatedly pressed by the U.S. administration.
Today, Ren's letter in June last year was announced to the public after Joe Biden took over the presidency from Donald Trump. Under the Trump administration, Huawei was pressed several times until it was blacklisted following the U.S.'s view that Huawei technology could pose a security risk.
It is stated that due to these factors, Huawei had to adapt the strategy to the available capabilities. Among the decisions taken was to re-evaluate some product lines and reduce some products including the staff themselves.
Huawai also had to sell Honor to the consortium in November. Ren says that his company had to restructure on the salary issue.
Although the letter did not specifically mention the Biden administration, analysts thought Huawei hoped the action taken against them would be delayed so that the 5G technology process could grow. Analysts also believe Huawai seems to be trying to repair trade relations with the U.S. as the letters and compliments began to be announced following Biden's takeover.
