Theta Labs revealed that they have decided that the launch of the Theta 3.0 mainnet has been postponed and moved to June 30, 2021.

The firm said they need a little more time to do transparent scrutiny and important testing before officially launching.

Among the things of concern, the development team is working on including some developing blocks for non-fungible tokens (NFT), the marketplace for Theta Mainnet 3.0.

In addition, they are also making sure the network works when scaled to over 100,000 Elite Edge Nodes.

Elite Edge Nodes seeks to tokenize broadband internet, aiming to be a decentralized storage space for NFT by creating cross-chain connections between its own network, the Ethereum network and other networks.

Theta is also confident this postponement when it is deemed something bad, will instead yield more results than expected.

Following the news of the launch of Mainnet 3.0 which was initially proposed on April 21 managed to boost the price of THETA by 450% since January 1.

However, after hitting an all -time high (ATH) at $ 14.99 yesterday afternoon, THETA saw a slight decline. The news of the delay then pulled THETA price to a lower level at the time of writing, $ 10.77 down 20.15% in 24 hours.
