 AmBank Research raised its revenue projections for the financial years 2021, 2022 and 2023 of Bursa Malaysia Bhd, by 15%, 15.8% and 5.8% respectively to RM367 million, RM325 million and RM287 million.


Bernama reported that the projection was released after taking into account the high daily average trading value (DATV) of RM4 billion, RM3.5 billion and RM3.0 billion from RM3.2 billion, RM2.8 billion and RM2.6 billion for the previous securities market. .


In a note today, the firm informed that Bursa Malaysia is scheduled to release the first quarter 2021 results on April 17.



The research firm expects revenue growth of 10.6% quarter -on -quarter and 79.2% year -on -year of RM116 million based on higher DATV as well as average daily contracts traded for derivatives.


For the period January to March 11 this year, DATV for equities remained strong at RM5.0 billion compared to RM4.8 billion and RM2.5 billion, in the fourth quarter of 2020 and first quarter of 2020, respectively.


Meanwhile, for the period January to February this year, the percentage of DATV contributed by foreign institutions remained stable at 16%.


Meanwhile, according to the firm, transactions from foreign investors accounted for 36% of DATV, which is still higher than 38% in financial year 2020.
