This is good news for fans of the Larva Labs project as the maker of CryptoPunks has launched its latest non-fungible token (NFT) project known as Meebits.
The project differs from CryptoPunks in that it appears as an avatar character for the virtual world, games and virtual reality (VR).
Even created in 3D format, not 8-bit 2D pixels like CryptoPunks.
Based on the uploaded statement, Larva Labs created the character with incredible details such as tattoo patterns generated using Autoglyphs on certain Meebits.
Autoglyphs is the first ‘on-chain’ art generative developed on the Ethereum blockchain.
The firm will also launch an asset pack for each Meebit which will allow owners to get an avatar in a ‘T-pose’ version and can be used in any game or virtual world that supports humanoid avatars.
This way, users can activate or ‘turn on’ their Meebits.
Just like CryptoPunks, this NFT also contains a hash file in the smart contract. The firm further explained: “Once 20,000 Meebits have been mined, we will launch matching files that have hashes in IPFS. It contains voxel data and attributes for each Meebit, making the character permanent. ”
The Meebits launch also has two distinct components: community grants and sales.
Using community grants, owners of CryptoPunks and Autoglyphs can redeem their collections for free Meebit, and owners can still keep them but Meebits contracts will be marked ‘used’.
While the remaining Meebits will be available for sale.
