Israeli security forces have reportedly committed more and more atrocities against journalists covering events in East Jerusalem over the past few months.

According to Bernama, the Zionist regime recently arrested Qatar-based al-Jazeera journalist Givara al-Budeiri and Palestinian activist Muna al-Kurd.

Tensions in the region began in late April following the Zionist regime's attack on the al-Aqsa Mosque.

The attack then escalated into violence in the occupied West Bank and areas inhabited by Israeli Arabs and turned into an Israeli military operation against the besieged Gaza Strip.

Journalists covering acts of violence in the region were targeted by Israeli forces.

In fact, media personnel were attacked with plastic bullets, tear gas and detained.

The 11 -day Israeli offensive targeting Gaza ended with a ceasefire on 21 May.

According to a statement issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Information, in May alone, there were 35 acts of violence against journalists in Jerusalem.
