Positive Trend Of Losing Stock In The Last Days Of 2021

 At 9.05am the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) lost 1.45 points at 1,543.59 from Wednesday's close of 1,545.09.


The index opened 0.31 points at 1,544.73.


It opened lower due to moderate profit -taking activity and mixed performance of the global market.


On the broader market, investors saw gainers outnumber losers by 136 to 106, while 182 counters were unchanged, 1,887 untraded and 53 suspended.


Total turnover at 81.02 million units worth RM41.57 million.


A note issued by Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd noted Omicron's concerns resurfaced and market sentiment towards global equities weakened.



He added that investors may be looking for health -focused stocks or gloves for now due to concerns over Omicron while technology and telecommunications -related stocks are also attracting attention due to the expansion of 5G users.


Heavyweights saw Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) and Public Bank Bhd lose 2 sen at RM8.13 and RM4.17, Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (Petchem) and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd remained at RM8.89 and RM5.43 respectively while IHH Healthcare Bhd collected 5 sen at 1.5 sen.


Active stocks saw KNM Group Bhd and Vinvest Capital Holdings Bhd drive 0.5 sen at 15 sen and 43.5 sen, Theta Edge Bhd rose 4 sen at 90.5 sen while Compugates Holdings Bhd was flat at 1.5 sen.


On the index board, FBM Emas Shariah gained 2.72 points at 12,056.71 and FBM ACE added 6.83 points at 6,369.80.


Meanwhile, the FBM Emas index was down 2.72 points at 11,192.49, the FBMT 100 index was down 9.22 points at 10,886.72 and the FBM 70 was down 7.59 points at 14,217.49.


The Products and Services Industry Index added 0.05 points at 202.13, the Plantation index drove 1.21 points at 6,545.99 and the Financial Services index declined 24.31 points at 15,596.74.
