VS Industry Committed to Combating Forced Labor Practices

 The issue of labor practices is becoming more and more so that it tarnishes the country's reputation in the eyes of the world.


VS Industry Bhd is committed to combating the issue of forced labor after holding a dialogue session with labor rights activist, Andy Hall.


VS Industry stated they will conduct an independent third -party social compliance audit by March 2022 and will relocate foreign workers hired through a recalibration program into its group’s direct recruitment.


The bilateral dialogue session held by VS Industry and Andy Hall saw both sides agreeing on a strong action plan and timeline to address the issue of foreign workers.



VS Industry explained that they will immediately arrange for the placement of workers in proper hostels and maintain a zero recruitment fee policy where the fees and costs associated with hiring foreign workers will be fully borne by them.


The action plan will see the company identify its employees who had to pay hiring fees or related costs from outsiders, then they will reimburse the employees and conduct investigations to address labor issues as discussed with Andy Hall.


VS Industry managing director, Datuk SY Gan, stressed that the company is implementing the stated action plan.


Meanwhile, Andy Hall described the actions of VS Industry in implementing the action plan will give positive results for foreign workers.


As at noon, VS Industry shares were down 7 sen or 0.78% at RM1.27 with a market capitalization of RM4.86 billion.
