Facebook has partnered with Ray-Ban in releasing a smart pair of glasses that can not only capture photos and videos but also allow users to listen to songs and make calls.

The glasses, named Ray-Ban Stories, are priced at US $ 299 (RM1,252) and look like regular glasses but they have a 5 megapixel camera on the side that works to record video and take pictures.

The idea behind the glasses is to allow users to record a 30 -second video of what they see with a single tap and it is indeed reserved for Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories recordings in addition to allowing voice activation.

However, there is a significant disadvantage of these glasses that the quality of the picture produced is less than satisfactory as well as not waterproof and can interfere with the privacy rights of individuals.

This is not the first time smart glasses have been introduced because before this, Google Inc had released Google Glass and Snapchat also released their own 'spectacles' but it was not successfully commercialized.
