Silk Road black market web founder Ross Ulbricht managed to sell his first non-fungible token (NFT) despite the figure being jailed for crimes committed.

The NFT, ‘Perspective’ is a pencil drawing sold for 1,446 ETH ($ 6.2 million, equivalent to RM 25.9 million) in early December 2021 through the SuperRare platform.

Perspective is one of the Ross Ulbricht Genesis Collection NFT run by a decentralized organization, FreeRossDAO.

It was through this organization that Ulbricht’s works were auctioned off and the profits were channeled to a charity, Art4Giving and used to free the criminal.

The work produced by Ulbricht is inspired by the story of his life-starting from his childhood, adolescence, and his life as a prisoner; including an original animation produced by artist Levitate, recounting Ulbricht’s experience in prison.

Ross Ulbricht is known as the biggest criminal in the crypto world. The Silk Road website has been used for the operation and sale of drugs, fake documents, and many more illegal assets using the cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC).

The NFT phenomenon is getting crazier, starting mid -2021.

Not only world footballers are attracted to NFT, but also Bollywood artists like Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachan; Korean artists such as BTS and Mamamoo; and Hollywood artists like Eminem, Steve Aoki, and Justin Bieber.
