 The European Union (EU) is intensifying efforts to reduce dependence on Russian energy by asking its people to reduce the use of energy.


With a plan called 'Playing My Part', he urged people to cut down on scouting and use of cold air and work from home three days a week.

The IEA considers that if every citizen followed its reserves, it could save 220 million barrels of oil annually which is enough to fill 120 large tankers.

In March, the EU had announced plans to make the bloc free from imports of Russian power by 2030. However, German Energy Minister Christian Lindner said it was impossible to stop oil imports immediately.


Meanwhile, Austria has phased out all its lay hauling mines and introduced a program to help low-income householders replace old, inefficient equipment.
