"This is if Facebook belongs to a Malay person, TikTok has been around for a long time, it seems."

Meta Platforms Inc's Facebook has reportedly hired a leading Republican negotiating firm to carry out a campaign to undermine its current biggest competitor, TikTok.

Citing a source from the Washington Post, the campaign that promotes negative news about TikTok has been placed on major news channels in the United States (US).

It is believed that such a technique is said to be frequently used by Washington politicians to undermine or bring down their competitors.

It's common knowledge that Meta has lost hundreds of billions of dollars earlier this year due to investors' doubts about its future and the emergence of competition from the video sharing platform, TikTok, which is more popular with younger audiences.

Once upon a time, Meta issued a response to the increasing popularity of TikTok by stating that the video sharing platform had to face a consistent stage of research along with its success.

Meanwhile, the Meta-financed Republican negotiating firm was identified as Targeted Victory.

The firm publicly certifies that it works with Meta and does not deny its activity of spreading negative news about TikTok.

Following the personal Twitter of Targeted Victory's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zac Moffatt, he publicly stated that they are proud to explain the dangers of TikTok to users.

It said Targeted Victory was trying to defame TikTok, which is owned by a Chinese company, ByteDance.

The fact that the company often portrays the dangers of TikTok to child users in the US and states the video sharing platform from China is the number 1 foreign-owned app threat in data sharing used by young teens.

He also reportedly asked parents in the United States to sign a letter that caused doubts to be presented to the press.

In addition, they also stated that TikTok promotes vandalism activities by introducing disorganized and dangerous trends towards the young to the old.
