Britain's economy is unexpectedly growing stronger in the fourth quarter of 2021 despite the contagion of the Omicron variant.

Most recently, the State Planning Officer (ONS) reported that the Gross Domestic Product (KDNK) grew 1.3% in the fourth quarter, which exceeded the initial budget of 1.0% previously.

The hospitality industry is growing faster than the ONS previously budgeted, while exports also enjoyed a bigger surge.

The figures also show the economic distance at the peak of the epidemic was not as bad as initially thought. In 2020, KDNK shrank 9.3% compared to the 9.4% previously budgeted.

Although the recovery in 2021 is lower than the initial budget of 7.5% with a growth of 7.4%, overall it is still the largest increase in KDNK in one year since World War II.

According to the ONS, there has been a marked increase in spending on human health and social work activities, reflecting what the State Health Service (IHS) is doing to combat Covid-19.

In addition, there has also been a spike in activity steadily with users returning to the store at the end of the year when people have been avoiding restaurants after the Omicron variant appeared.
