A little more, Ethereum 2.0 or its new teminology, the consensus layer will be broadcast but there are some tests that need to be done first to ensure its launch this June goes smoothly.
In a sharing on the Twitter page, Ethereum software developer Parathi Jayanathi confirmed his team is already running 3 Goerli shadow forks.
All three forks are used to examine the presence of various bugs from the sync code to request an expiration period in the transition process.
What are shadow forks?
It refers to the copying of data from the main network (Ethereum) to the testnet platform.
It is on this platform that developers can test all the features introduced before being transferred to Ethereum.
To streamline the process, a number of Ethereum engineers have created a testing environment that is very similar to the main network through the presence of Kiln.
For the record, Ethereum processes over 1 billion transactions per day.
So far, the newly tested shadow fork has processed 1.8 million transactions with an average block turnover of 13.8 seconds.
