The world's richest man, Elon Musk, plans to unblock the Twitter account of the 45th former president of the United States (US), Donald Trump if the purchase of the social site is successful.
Musk shared the idea in an interview with the Financial Times last night Malaysian time:

To our knowledge Trump’s account was blocked in January 2021 for being found to be in violation of Twitter policy. It is understood that the former US president brought bad influence related to the Capitol Riots.
According to Tesla founder who is also a hardcore fan of the cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE), Twitter’s decision to block Trump’s account in 2021 was an immoral act and a big mistake.
As a result, Musk thinks that Twitter should be more careful if it wants to delete and completely block a sharing or user account.
Musk also said it was inappropriate for a culture of full restrictions to exist on the social site and that this was clearly agreed by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
Apparently Musk is right because Dorsey himself acknowledges full restrictions, except against network manipulation, spam, or illegal activity, should not be applied; and yes, he admitted the mistake.
I do agree. There are exceptions (CSE, illegal behavior, spam or network manipulation, etc), but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don't work, which I wrote about here after the event (and called for a resilient social media protocol) : https://t.co/fQ9KnrCQGX

It is understood that the purchase of Twitter worth RM191.4 billion will be completed in two to three months.
