China's ongoing military exercises around Taiwan have raised concerns for the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

On Monday, President Joe Biden said he was not worried about Taiwan but was worried about China's actions in the region since US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taipei.

However, Biden also said he did not think Beijing would do anything more than that, in his first public address on the issue.

China has announced new military exercises in the sea and airspace around Taiwan on Monday, a day after ending its biggest exercise scheduled to protest Pelosi's visit to the island last week.

The move has drawn criticism from Taiwan's foreign ministry, which has accused Beijing of deliberately provoking the crisis and called for it to halt the drills and withdraw from the island.

Meanwhile, recent reports say Taiwan's military forces conducted a simulated live-fire drill on Tuesday, in response to Chinese military actions near the island.

The exercise was conducted in Pingtung County, located in the southern part of the island, to check the readiness of the troops for combat.
