Uproar about the seizure of power in China, President Xi Jinping overthrown?

 Uproar over the weekend over rumors of a coup had taken place in China and President Xi Jinping was placed under house arrest.


But in reality, he only underwent quarantine after traveling to Central Asia to attend the summit a week ago.


It is understood that the allegations arose after senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party removed him as the leader of the PLA (People's Liberation Army) and there are several video recordings showing the movement of the army towards his residence.


However, the rumors were confirmed to be false after the government announced a list of 2,296 central delegates from across the country to attend the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which will be led by Xi Jinping.



He is also likely to continue his reign for a third consecutive term in the important event which will start on October 16 in Beijing.


Xi is facing mounting challenges at home and abroad. In China, economic growth prospects continue to decrease due to the zero Covid policy implemented.


The woes in the property market have led to a 12-month slump in property prices and sparked protests among homeowners.


On the international stage, China faces pressure from America and its allies over human rights abuses in Hong Kong and Xinjiang, as well as several other geopolitical and economic issues.
