The chaos in UK politics does not seem to have stopped with the dismissal of Kwasi Kwarteng as Finance Minister, and even Prime Minister Liz Truss had to witness the departure of another of her supporters.
Suella Braverman resigned as Home Secretary for using a personal email address that violated ministerial rules.
His resignation letter also showed a rift in Truss's leadership where Braverman had time to criticize the leader over his tax policy.
As a result, Truss appointed senior Conservative party official Grant Shapps, who is also a staunch supporter of Rishi Sunak, to fill the vacancy.
Rishi Sunak was Truss' rival when running for Prime Minister and Shapps' appointment came as a surprise to many as he had previously criticized the leader.
Earlier, Liz Truss also appointed Sunak's supporter, Jeremy Hunt, as Minister of Finance who has fulfilled his responsibilities by 'throwing out' Truss's mini budget.
Truss continues to face criticism for his refusal to step down from his post following his budget blunders which have caused a slump in UK financial markets.
