‘Slow down! Malaysia has had a flying Myvi for a long time.'

An automotive-based start-up company from the United States (US) revealed the first glimpse (teaser) of the world's first flying car, the 'Model A', which can reach a flight distance of 160 kilometers.

Through the founder of Alef Aeronautics, Jim Dukhovny, the imagination of flying cars is about to turn into reality with the company said to have successfully carried out detailed research to move land vehicles into the sky.

Even more surprising when Tim Draper, one of the early investors of Tesla Inc and Elon Musk's SpaceX, boldly put $3 million of his money into the company through the firm Draper Associates Fund V.

Draper also said that he would add more funding after seeing Alef's success in creating a small drone prototype, while praising the Model A's design that will open its wings when flying vertically.

Back to the Model A, the car is seen to resemble a flying vehicle like in the US movies of the 1980s.

The main inspiration for the Model A according to Alef is said to be inspired by the flying taxi from the 1997 Bruce Wilis movie, The Fifth Element.

In fact, Dukhovny himself, who is a computer science graduate and software designer, explained that the entire body of the Model A is a wing that will help the car fly.

Dukhovny further explained that once lifted off the ground, the cockpit would rotate, the carbon fiber body would move sideways and fly with multiple propeller supports.

Meanwhile, a Model A retails at a price tag of $300,000 with production and deliveries starting in 2025.

In addition, the world's first flying car is said to be able to travel 322 kilometers and travel 160 kilometers in the air.
