'It's good to help advertising companies, but don't consumers not like it if there are a lot of ads?'
YouTube's parent company Alphabet Inc is working on a mechanism that could help advertising firms include their products or brands in music and podcasts.
The matter was announced by the Vice President of global advertising for Google and YouTube, Debbie Weinstein in helping the advertising industry struggling with high inflation rates and supply chain disruptions.
In general, inflationary problems and supply disruptions have caused advertising companies to pull back spending to compensate for the economic downturn.
It is understood that the video streaming platform plans to expand its global advertising service that will allow other brands to serve ads to music and podcast listeners.
And while YouTube is best known for videos, the podcast service is the 2nd most popular among listeners.
On that factor, the company plans to sell an advertising placement package called 'Moment Blast' that allows brands to position themselves in YouTube listeners when connected to a TV or other device.
As of this writing Alphabet shares are trading 3.53% higher at $99.97 with a market capitalization of 1.31 trillion.
