ASNB Dividend Distribution of 4.6 Sens Per Unit, Satisfactory?

Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) announced a dividend distribution of 4.6 sen per unit to Amanah Saham Bumiputra (ASB) holders for the financial year ending 31 December 2022 (FY22).


Also announced was an additional bonus of 0.5 sen per unit, for the first 30,000 units, which includes a total payment of RM8.9 billion to 10.6 million holders.


According to the chairman of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), Tun Arifin Zakaria, they managed to maintain a competitive income distribution despite the challenging market situation and hope that the bonus can ease the high cost of living.



The president and executive of the group, Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn, added that Malaysian companies emerged as the biggest contributors this year as a result of ASB's investment drive in financial services, plantations and healthcare.


Ahmad Zulqarnain also underlined that there was an increase in the number of accounts by 200,000 to 10.6 million accounts this year, and units in circulation increased by 4.6 billion (2.53%) to 186.4 billion units.


For the first 11 months of 2022, PNB's total assets under management (AUM) increased by RM343.1 billion from RM336.7 billion last year.


The same period also saw the units in circulation of all 17 ASBN funds increase by 283.2 billion units compared to 276.2 billion units with the number of canak account holders from 14.8 million to 15.2 million.
