Abu Dhabi investment firm MGX and Nvidia Corp will partner with French organizations to build the largest artificial intelligence data center campus in Europe.

The two companies announced they will build the campus near Paris with a capacity of 1.4 gigawatts with French firms Bpifrance SACA and Mistral AI.

The AI cooperation agreement was signed in February, after United Arab Emirates (UAE) Prime Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with French President Emmanuel Macron.

The two leaders' discussions also included the UAE government's plan to invest $56.4 billion in French data centers.

The talks succeeded in realizing the UAE's desire to diversify its economy and expand its political influence through cooperation with France to establish AI sovereignty in Europe.

Macron also announced an investment worth €109 billion in AI infrastructure as a competitive effort with the US and the Republic of China.

In short, the €8.5 billion data center facility is expected to be fully operational in 2028.
