Sime Darby Property Increases B40 Workers' Salaries to RM2,700 Per Month!

Sime Darby Property Bhd will increase the minimum salary for workers in the B40 group by 80 percent from RM1,500 to RM2,700 per month.


The move is part of its commitment to ensuring employee welfare is guaranteed and supporting sustainable economic growth.


Sime Darby Property Chairman, Datuk Rizal Rickman Ramli said the adjustment takes into account the rising cost of living and is aimed at providing better financial support to low-income workers.


Rickman Ramli said the following initiatives reflect our commitment to the financial stability and well-being of our workforce who have been affected by the rising cost of living.


He discussed that this effort was taken as an effort to improve the skills of our workforce in line with the growing industry demands related to environmental, social and governance (ESG).


Furthermore, the salary increase is a workforce development measure under the SHIFT25 transformation plan by the Sime Darby Property organization.


In 2024, the company managed to increase the number of employee training hours by 43 percent and introduced new programs in urban biodiversity, sustainable development and artificial intelligence (AI).
