Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reportedly sent an official letter to Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, proposing to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to media sources, Iranian Ambassador Alireza Enayati handed the letter to Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed El-Khereiji during a meeting in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The meeting also discussed current relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

The two sides also agreed to show commitment to expanding cooperation and enhancing constructive diplomatic dialogue.

So far, no further information has been revealed regarding the contents of the letter and the proposed initiative.

The move is considered a continuation of efforts to normalize relations between Tehran and Riyadh following the restoration of their diplomatic relations in 2023.
