MBSB Research expects the unemployment rate in Malaysia to remain at 3% this year compared to 3.4% in the previous year.
This situation is supported by the continued increase in employment and career opportunities, especially in the services sector.
The firm also stated that job creation and stronger labor demand are driven by domestic consumption and stable investment activities.
This situation shows a stable increase in employment and a decrease in the unemployment rate with the labor force in Malaysia growing consistently in June 2025.
Chief Statistician, Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the labor market continued to record positive growth in the month following the country's continued economic development.
However, tariff-related disruptions risk affecting global demand and putting pressure on labor recruitment in sectors closely related to exports and commodities.
A survey conducted by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) found that the employment trend in the month was in line with the rate previously recorded in May 2025.
