Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal limit for Hajj purposes will be increased from RM3,000 to RM10,000.
This move was announced during the tabling of the 2026 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat as an effort to help Muslims perform the fifth pillar of Islam more easily. This increase is expected to provide relief to prospective pilgrims who are facing increasing costs of performing Hajj every year.
According to PMX, this initiative is in line with the Malaysia MADANI approach which emphasises the well-being of the people as well as supporting the spiritual needs of Muslims in the country.
