During the Budget 2026 debate session in the Dewan Rakyat, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s initiatives specifically for youth, especially in the aspects of training, employment, and entrepreneurship financing.
Among the measures announced were:
1. On-the-job training – The government through Khazanah is providing training and employment opportunities to 11,000 youth without degree qualifications with an allocation of RM200 million. This is to ensure that youth with less academic qualifications are not left out of career opportunities.
2. Bumiputera training and job guarantees – MARA is allocating almost RM30 million to train Bumiputera children, accompanied by job guarantees. This measure is aimed at strengthening the marketability of Bumiputera youth in the formal employment sector.
3. Youth entrepreneurship financing – BSN is providing financing totaling RM150 million to support youth in starting and expanding businesses. This measure is hoped to stimulate the spirit of entrepreneurship among the younger generation.
The Prime Minister stressed that this investment is an important strategy to ensure that Malaysian youth have a balanced development opportunity between training, employment, and business. He also stressed the importance of the government ensuring that every youth has the opportunity to contribute productively to the national economy.
