Malaysia and India are committed to strengthening bilateral relations to a more strategic level, including cooperation in trade, technology, investment, education, and regional security.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the matter was discussed during a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday.
Anwar stated that they also discussed the organization of the 17th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur later this month.
He added that Modi would attend the 47th ASEAN Summit online, as the Deepavali festival was still being celebrated in India during the conference.
The Prime Minister respected the decision and extended his Deepavali greetings to Modi and all the people of India.
The discussion reaffirmed Malaysia and India's commitment to strengthening strategic relations and regional cooperation for the sake of stability, economic growth, and mutual benefits for the people of both countries.
