If I could go back in time, I’d use the months after SPM to really learn about personal finance, even with limited money. Knowledge about budgeting, saving, and investing early on sets you up for success later.
2️⃣ Master High-Income Skills
Azizul Faizi reminded us that while SPM is important, it’s only a stepping stone. Don’t stop learning—invest your time in high-income skills like marketing, coding, design, or any skill that can generate income.
Even simple ventures like selling snacks or starting a small business while studying can give you a huge advantage. These experiences teach real-world business and money management, preparing you for university or the workforce.
⚠️ Tip: Avoid scams, “get-rich-quick” schemes, or unverified online Forex platforms. Many students get trapped—stay smart, stay safe, and focus on halal, sustainable ways to earn.
3️⃣ Seek Guidance from Experienced Mentors
Hamizan advised students to seek advice from adults with real-life experience instead of peers. Talking to people who have been in the workforce helps you understand the realities of life and make smarter choices.
I personally started as a promoter after SPM, selling clothes at a shopping mall. It was challenging but taught me confidence, communication, and resilience. Learning from mentors and real experiences shapes your mindset for the future.
