As the conflict in the Middle East escalates, Iran has reportedly launched a drone attack on the passenger terminal of Nakhchivan International Airport in Azerbaijan.

The attack also targeted a school located near the Iranian border.

The incident left at least two people injured, in addition to causing significant structural damage to the terminal building.

Azerbaijani authorities condemned the action as a terrorist attack and demanded an explanation and an official apology from Iran.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev described the incident as a clear aggression and has ordered the country's armed forces to be on high alert.

Although Iran tried to deny involvement in the attack, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry rejected the denial by presenting surveillance data showing that four Iranian military drones were launched into the Nakhchivan region.

At the same time, Azerbaijan demanded that Iran take full responsibility and take action against those involved.

The incident also drew condemnation from Turkiye, which expressed strong support for Azerbaijan while urging an immediate end to violence.

This growing tension not only threatens regional security, but also tests the limits of international diplomacy.
