Bitcoin and XRP continue to consolidate following their recent gains, with both assets remaining above key moving averages on the daily chart.
Market attention tomorrow, Friday, October 2, will focus on the US jobs report for September—including Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) and the unemployment rate—scheduled for 8:30 AM US time (8:30 PM Malaysia time).
Factory Orders data is also scheduled for release at 10:00 AM US time (10:00 PM Malaysia time).
Bitcoin Remains Above US$84,000
BTCUSD chart by Saracen Markets
Bitcoin is trading around US$84,138 on the daily chart, following several sessions of sideways movement within the US$83,000 to US$85,000 range.
The price remains well above the MA20 (US$77,686), MA50 (approx. US$71,321), and MA200 (approx. US$70,509).
This positioning indicates that the primary trend remains positive, even though short-term momentum has begun to slow.
From a technical perspective, US$83,000 serves as the immediate support level, while the US$85,000 to US$85,500 zone acts as a key resistance area.
If it successfully breaks through that zone, Bitcoin has the potential to retest the US$86,000 to US$87,000 range.
Conversely, a failure to hold above US$83,000 could lead the price to retest the US$82,000 level before seeking lower support. XRP Attempts to Hold Above US$1.50
XRP is currently trading around US$1.5055 and attempting to defend the psychological US$1.50 level following several sessions of sideways movement.
Charts indicate that XRP remains above the MA20 (US$1.3674), MA50 (approx. US$1.2797), and MA200 (US$1.2235). This suggests that the primary trend structure remains positive.
For tomorrow's movement, US$1.50 serves as the immediate support level, while the US$1.55–US$1.57 range acts as a resistance zone that must be breached to reignite bullish momentum.
If XRP successfully breaks past US$1.57, the price could potentially move towards US$1.60 and US$1.66.
Conversely, a drop below US$1.50 could see the price retest the US$1.45 area.
US NFP Takes Center Stage
Tomorrow's US employment report is expected to be a key catalyst for Bitcoin and XRP price movements, as the data could influence market expectations regarding the Federal Reserve's interest rate trajectory.
Current forecasts place the September NFP figure at around 90,000—down from the previous reading of 162,000—while the unemployment rate is expected to remain at 4.1%.
Data coming in weaker than expected could shift market expectations regarding Fed policy, whereas stronger employment data could potentially exert pressure on risk assets through movements in the US dollar and bond yields.
