The Selangor government has expanded its RM30 monthly public transport subsidy—available via the NINE app—to include KTM Komuter services, offering eligible residents more options for their daily commutes.
Selangor Mobility Committee Chairman Ng Sze Han stated that while the subsidy was previously applicable to Rapid On Demand and Kumpool services, it can now also be used to purchase KTM Komuter tickets.
Applicable to Several KTM Routes
This expansion covers the Klang Valley KTM Komuter, Northern Sector KTM Komuter, and Southern Shuttle services.
Eligible Selangor residents will continue to receive the RM30 monthly subsidy until December 2026 under the Selangor Public Transport Subsidy Program.
The state government noted that the initiative aims to help reduce daily commuting costs, particularly for residents who rely on public transport to get to work or attend to daily errands.
How to Apply for the RM30 Subsidy
Users must download the NINE app, apply for subsidy eligibility, and select KTM Komuter as their preferred transport service.
Once approved, the RM30 subsidy will be credited to the NINE eWallet. Users can then purchase tickets via the KTMB Mobile or KITS Style apps by selecting NINE as the payment method.
Up to 50,000 Recipients
The program provides a fare subsidy of RM30 per month for six months to up to 50,000 eligible recipients.
With this expansion, recipients now have a wider range of options for utilizing the subsidy—including KTM Komuter services—helping to lower their monthly transportation expenses.
