XRP continues to show stability above the US$1.50 mark after last week's bullish momentum began to subside.
At the time of writing, XRP is trading at US$1.4918, up 0.18% since the opening of the Asian session on Thursday.
This level is now a focal point, as a daily close above US$1.50 could strengthen the neutral-to-positive structure and pave the way for XRP to retest its September high of around US$1.66 and its August high of US$1.70.
US$1.50: A Critical Level for XRP
XRP is currently attempting to rebuild momentum following a correction from its previous rally.
A strong daily close above US$1.50 would signal that buyers remain in control and that the price has the potential to continue its recovery.
Conversely, a failure to hold above this level could see XRP return to sideways movement and test lower support levels.
ETF Demand Slows
Institutional demand via US spot XRP ETFs shows mixed results. On Tuesday, US-listed ETFs recorded no inflows, leaving the cumulative inflow total at approximately US$1.79 billion.
Despite the slowdown in daily flows, weekly data indicates that XRP ETFs had previously recorded positive inflows.
Spot XRP funds recorded inflows of approximately US$75.6 million for the week ending September 25, extending an 11-week streak of inflows.
This demonstrates that institutional interest persists, though the rate of demand bears watching if XRP is to maintain its upward momentum.
Open Interest Remains Stable
The derivatives market, meanwhile, shows a more stable picture. Open Interest (OI) for XRP futures contracts stood at approximately 2.34 billion XRP on Wednesday, down from 2.46 billion XRP on Monday.
While stable OI indicates ongoing trader activity, a rebound in OI alongside rising prices would serve as a clearer signal that interest in XRP is strengthening again.
XRP maintains a positive structure as long as the price holds above $1.50; however, upward momentum requires fresh demand to confirm a breakout.
A daily close above $1.50 could pave the way for moves toward $1.66 and $1.70, whereas a failure to hold this level would see XRP face renewed selling pressure and enter a consolidation phase.
