Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the implementation of the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) targeted subsidy program will run smoothly with the support of a new system capable of processing up to 30,000 transactions per minute.
Anwar stated that the capacity increase was implemented after the government learned from technical problems that arose during the implementation of the previous Basic Rahmah Contribution (SARA).
He also explained that when SARA was implemented, the system capacity was only around 3,000 transactions per minute because it was developed to accommodate a smaller group.
The capacity of the BUDI95 server has now been upgraded up to 10 times, which is capable of processing 30,000 transactions per minute to ensure the smoothness and speed of the mobile system.
In addition, the price of RON95 petrol will be reduced from RM2.05 to RM1.99 per litre starting September 30 through the BUDI95 initiative to ensure that only Malaysian citizens receive the benefits.
The public is also advised not to rush to buy RON95 at the subsidized price starting next Tuesday as the price will remain the same.
The statement was made when he delivered his address at the Finance Ministry's Monthly Assembly today.
The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying and Treasury Secretary-General Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican.
